There are two methods:

1. The automated and the simplest method, just download and run the included Batch file from the archive.

2. The Manual method. So follow this steps:

a.) Launch Registry Editor (Start -> Run -> Regedit).
b.) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\yahoo\pager\YUrl
c.) Replacing the following registry values with dummy asterisk (*):

Webcam Upload Ad
Webcam Viewer Ad
Webcam Viewer Ad Big
Webcam Viewer Ad Medium

Chat Adurl

NOTE: If the registry key doesn’t exist, simply create a new String Value registry key with the name by right clicking on the above registry branch and select New -> String Value.

d.) Close Registry Editor and launch Windows Explorer.
e.) Go to C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Cache\
f.) Locate the file urls.xml
g.) Clear the content of urls.xml
h.) Save the empty urls.xml file (it should be an empty file).
i.) Change the attributes of urls.xml to Read-Only by right click on the file and select properties, and click on Read-only.

Q1. How to Install Yahoo Messenger Skins?

1. Download the skin.
2. Unzip the file using WinZip or a similiar program.
3. Open your skins folder (My computer\C:\Program Files\Yahoo\Shared\Graphics).
4. Copy and paste all the theme folders there one by one.
5. Once you have all the files in the folder sign into Yahoo Messenger (if you weren't signed in already).

Yahoo Messenger With Tabs: Mozilla Like Style

Imagine chatting with 5-6 friends at a time and you whole computer screen is filled with chatting windows. It just seems a nightmare. So guys there's a solution to this problem. With this registry tweak you can mod your yahoo messenger so it won't open multiple windows while chatting with many people at the same time.

You will have tabs for different friends like these days we have tabs in browsers. If you don't want tabs at a particular time, you can also turn off this feature with a simple right click on the person's tab and choose open in new window. This little hack will change your chatting experience because you will have a neat screen to look at.

I have made two registry files for the mod. Just download the file and unzip it. It will have two registry file; one named "Tabs" and one "No Tabs". If you want to enable tabs in your messenger just double click on "Tabs" file and click ok when a dialog box appears.


While you can turn off the tab feature in yahoo messenger itself, I have also provided a "No Tabs" registry file so that in case you want this feature to be completely out of your messenger, you can simple double click on this file and choose ok when a dialog box appears.

Change Yahoo Messenger's Title Bar Text

Hey guys now you can change the Yahoo Messenger 's title bar which this little tweak.
Note: Before trying this tricks make sure to close all instances (windows) of yahoo messenger.

Just follow these steps:
1. Open you yahoo messenger installation folder (default C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger).
2. Then search a file named "ymsgr". Double click to open it. If it doesn't open, then use notepad to open this file.
3. In this file just go to the end and paste the following code in a new line:

[APP TITLE]
CAPTION=Cool Wizard

As you can guess, you can replace the word Cool Wizard with any text of your choice. You can have your own name being placed in yahoo messenger title bar.

Now open your yahoo messenger and see the change.
